Understanding how the insides of various QBO, OFX, and QFX work has enabled us to accomplish some pretty powerful things.  It seems like not that long ago, my business partner Mike and I were trying to figure out how to import bank transactions from smaller banks that either did not offer QuickBooks downloads and if they did, they would never be the right type.  Determined to find a better way than manual data entry, I opened the file with excel and immediately saw the pattern within the file and knew that there was a hidden power that I needed to learn more. Now there are few issues with bank downloads that we cannot easily buy rebuilding the file ourselves.
